POINT PRIDE 2024 ANNOUNCEMENT!

Point Pride 2024 is moving INDOORS!

Yep, you read that right.  We are super excited to announce that Stevens Point Pride will be hosted in the Dreyfus University Center at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 2024.

Join us in the beautiful DUC on June 15th with two full lineups of entertainment between the Laird Room and the Encore.  We still encourage you to bring your lawn chairs to keep that cozy feel alive.

Wait, why?

In recent years, we’ve had to move our event elsewhere within a week – not once, but TWICE due to weather.  Quite simply, Stevens Point Pride deserves a win!  

The University of Wisconsin has been a big supporter of Stevens Point Pride since its beginning in 2019 (when our first event was virtual) and has many fantastic resources for the LGBTQ+ community.

Family Pride

As always, Stevens Point Pride kicks off with family encouraged entertainment.  In the past, we have started our event with a Drag Story Time and have given out books to families.

We will also take time during this segment to recognize graduating seniors in the community who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Daytime Divas

The Daytime Divas is the first of two Drag Shows featured on our Main Stage.  Watch as these talented performers lip sync and dance in an hour packed full of entertainment.

So You Think You Can Drag

If you have ever thought you wanted to try performing in drag, this is honestly the coolest way to start!  This year is SYTYCD’s 4th Annual event and the public response in the past has been an amazing, accepting environment.  Some past performers have loved the experience and decided to take on performing regularly after.  We believe Drag is about the Attitude, and anyone of any identity can perform Drag.

New To Pride in 2024: Bare Ass Antlers

Based in Stevens Point, Bare Ass Antlers is a Rock band that loves to experiment with different styles of music ranging from Punk, Jazz, Pop, Folk, Grunge, Midwest Emo, and Hardcore. The goal of every BAA performance is to have fun, dance, and possibly get a little in your feels. With sensational covers; Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, Franz Ferdinand, Paramore, and many others, BAA serves to bring a wave of joyful energy to the stage.
 
This Stevens Point Pride will especially be special for Emma and Quinn, the two queer community members in the band bringing more visibility for Non-Binary, Pansexual, Lesbian, and other alike performers. In positive anticipation, Bare Ass Antlers looks forward to performing in this year’s Stevens Point Pride!

GLOW PARTY

Picture this: the dance floor illuminated with neon lights, pulsating to the hottest club tracks that’ll have you moving and grooving. With beats so infectious, you won’t be able to resist hitting the dance floor! Who better than to turn our Main Stage into Point Pride’s hottest new club? None other than Dj Haunt3d Hous3!
 
Haunt3d Hous3, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised in Racine county, is a DJ, producer, and turntablist specializing in the genres of Melbourne Bounce and Tech House. Haunt3d Hous3 has worked proudly with the LGBTQ+ community in both Kenosha and Milwaukee. His residencies include La Cage Nightclub, This Is It, and Club Icon.  He is proud to have been a Pridefest DJ for the last 4 consecutive years.  If you’re looking for high energy music that makes you want to dance, that is what you will find for Haunt3d Hous3’s sets!

We might not be at the Pfiffner Park Bandshell this year, but we’re still bringing you the Bombshells!

We are excited to bring you this amazing lineup of Wisconsin based entertainers to close out the night on June 15th at 8:00!

Join us as we dive deeper into the heart of Pride with our “Authentic Identities Panel”.
 
This isn’t your typical entertainment you see at pride events – we’re bringing together voices from the LGBTQ+ community to share their stories and insights. You’ll hear how PRIDE affects different people in our community such as gay business owners, parents of queer children, trans individuals, and more!
 
Pride is about more than just parades and parties – it’s about fostering understanding and creating a supportive community. Let’s come together to learn, grow, and celebrate our diverse identities. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect and learn about what Pride is truly all about!

Drag Bingo

Two chances to play Drag Bingo!

Hosted by the fabulous Bianca Lynn Breeze, along side some of her drag pals, you will get the chance to play some bingo, watch some drag performances, and win some prizes!

Sarah Lynn

Sarah Lynn has been performing live for the last twenty two years in both bands and a solo artist. Her most recent Irish Punk band The Roving Scallywags won the 2020 WAMI award for best Celtic/Folk band. Her solo shows cover originals, covers, and Irish folk songs from across her career to give something to everyone. Her goal is to spread happiness and entertainment to the public and help normalize the trans community in the local music scene

Karaoke

Calling all hairbrush singers, car belters, and shower performers! Point Pride is featuring karaoke this year and you’re invited!
 
Belt out your favorite tunes, celebrate love and self-expression, and have a blast with the Point Pride community!
 
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a bathroom ballad champion, everyone is welcome. Let’s make this Pride one to remember!

Vivian's Vixens Burlesque Show

Point Pride is introducing a new form of entertainment to our lineup this year!
 
Vivian’s Vixens showcases some of Madison’s finest burlesque performers. The show consists of slapstick sketches, live singing, and solo dances that are considered daring and sensational in their ‘adult’ nature through the art of ‘the tease.’
 
It will be held on our Encore Stage and is open to those 18+ with a valid ID. No photography or videography is allowed.
